2016 Scion iM

What you’ve heard is true. Toyota’s youth-focused brand Scion will be closing its doors and transitioning into Toyota. 2016 will be the final model year for the current Scion vehicles. What does this mean for the all-new 2016 iM? It means the iM will be sold with a Toyota badge next year! This also means that the “Scion” iM will only be available for one model year... pretty cool if you ask me. The iM with a Scion badge will be a rare spectacle in years to come.

The new iM is essentially a replacement for the discontinued Toyota Matrix. The iM picks up where the Matrix left off, offering a compact, efficient, well-equipped hatchback vehicle. Its engine and transmission are shared with the Toyota Corolla. The iM is a distinctively styled alternative to other vehicles in its class. With a youthful and sporty flair, The iM is sure to stand out in a crowd. Side skirts, front & rear ground effects and 17” alloy wheels all come as standard equipment.

2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid

Powerful, efficient, stylish and reliable. The all-new 2016 RAV4 Hybrid checks all the boxes. It’s the small SUV buyers have been waiting for.  Ever since its introduction back in 1996, the RAV4 has always been a top choice among small SUVs.  Now, in its fourth generation, RAV4 has become a household name. For 2016, the RAV4 receives a mid-cycle refresh or “facelift”, along with the addition of this Hybrid model. The Hybrid model compromises nothing, delivering Corolla-like fuel efficiency with SUV-like capabilities and cargo space. The 2016 mid-cycle refresh includes updated front and rear styling, new headlamps and tail lamps, as well as updated interior materials and the introduction of some new entertainment and safety technology.

The hybrid model uses a very familiar 2.5L Atkinson Cycle 4 cylinder engine, paired with the Hybrid Synergy Drive system. This is the same powertrain found in the Camry Hybrid and Lexus ES300h. Total power output of the RAV4 Hybrid is more than its conventionally powered sibling, 194hp net power VS the gas model’s 176hp. The standard All Wheel Drive system on the RAV4 Hybrid works by means of 2 electric motors, one for the front wheels and the other for the rear wheels. The system is electronically controlled and activates itself automatically when necessary.  The RAV4 Hybrid is available in two trim levels - XLE and Limited. Both models are very nicely equipped with creature comforts you’d come to expect in a modern day vehicle. Available specifically on the Limited model is the “Technology Package”, which adds Toyota’s new Safety Sense system – a suite of driver aids and accident avoidance technology.
